Notes from the Field:

Welcome to the first Winter Share Pick-up!

We will keep your senses satisfied with storage crops and wintered over (and Spring sprung) greens every three weeks!

Thank you for your participation - wee look forward to sharing the harvest and recipes as the weeks go by.

What's in the Bag

  • Red russian kale
  • Brussel sprouts
  • Russet spuds
  • 1# yellow onions
  • .5# sweet potatoes
  • Carrots
  • Celeriac
  • Winter Squash
  • 1 bunch leeks
  • 1 red onion

How do I use everything?

  • Greens go by first, root crops store
  • Russet spuds are great baked, roasted or mashed
  • Use celeriac raw to add to a root veggie slaw, or use it to flavor soups/roasted meats.  Toss celeriac with lemon juice or vinegar to keep from browning

How do I store the veggies?

  • Potatoes: Cool, dry, no light
  • Onions: Moderately cool, dry
  • Winter Squash: Warmish, slight humidity
  • Carrods, celeriac, leeks, kale, brussels:  Regrigerate with humidity
